Event locations
The event center is located in the village Äkäslompolo, in front of the grocery market “Jounin Kauppa”. The municipality is called Kolari. Äkäslompolo is close to the fell Yllästunturi aka “Ylläs”.
The race office, the bib pickup, the market area, the start of 37 km and the finish of 160 km, 100 km and 37 km.

On Saturday there will be a shuttle bus connection between Lapland Hotels Saaga (at Ylläsjärvi) and Äkäslompolo’s event center. Timetables are here.
The start line of 160 km’s and 66 km’s races is located in Hetta (village) at “Enontekiön Koulukeskus”. There is a charter bus connection from Äkäslompolo’s event center to Hetta’s start area. You can buy a bus ticket at the same time you register into a race. The municipality is called Enontekiö.

The finish area of the 66 km’s race is in Pallas. Food and showers. There is a free charter bus connection (no reservation needed) from Pallas to the Äkäslompolo’s event center every hours starting on Fri at 19.30 am until Sat 02.00 am. Connection to Lapland Hotels Saaga (Ylläsjärvi).
The start line of 100 km’s race is located in Pallas. There is a charter bus connection from Äkäslompolo’s event center to Pallas. You can buy a bus ticket at the same time you register into a race.
On Saturday there is no public transport to Yllläsjärvi, Lapland Hotels Saaga, other than taxi. Ylläs Taxi tel. +358 20 071 800 (24 h). You can also book taxi by using Valopilkku smartphone app. App locates you and notifies when taxi arrives.

Shuttle buses
From Pallas – The Finish of The 66 km Race
There is a free shuttle bus connection (no reservation needed) Pallas ➞ Äkäslompolo’s event centre on Fri between 19.30 – Sat 02.15 am.
On demand the bus will go on to Lapland Hotels Saaga (Ylläsjärvi). Please, inform the bus driver, if you need a transport to Hotel Saaga.
Max. waiting time approx. 1 h. At the most rushed hours, the buses are leaving consecutively as soon as all the seating is ready.

Notice
The event organization won’t arrange transports: Pallas ➞ Hetta, Hetta ➞ Pallas or Hetta ➞ Äkäslompolo.
You can arrive to the event centre by your own vehicle and leave it to the parking area if there is space.

Travelling to Lapland
Rovaniemi (RVN)
Finnair flies multiple flights daily from Helsinki to Rovaniemi. Tickets are reasonable priced compared for example to flights to Kittilä. Note out possible COVID-19 limitations.
Arriving to Rovaniemi already on Thursday? Surely by far the best option for you to continue your journey to fells and to event center is to book a transport from Pohjolan Matka. This is a special event bus available for runners – same set minds to discuss with, no grumpy people onboard!! Scroll down the Pohjolan Matka’s schedule to see the journey description in English.

Kittilä (KTT)
There are also flights available from Helsinki to Kittilä by Finnair. COVID-19 restrictions & limitations might affect to this as well.
The public bus transportation in Finland
You can search bus connections at the site of Matkahuolto, the public bus service in Finland. Äkäslompolo (village) is located in the municipality called Kolari.
Travel service company Pohjolan Matka drives on Thursday from Rovaniemi all the way to the event center in Äkäslompolo and back on Sunday after the event. See the travel timetable and description and book the ticket here. Scroll down the page to see details in English at Pohjolan Matka’s site.
Accommodation
We recommend you to stay at Lapland Hotels Äkäshotelli (in Äkäslompolo), because the charter bus to the start-line destinations (Hetta and Pallas) will stop in front of this hotel.
The NUTS Ylläs Pallas event centre is located in the village called Äkäslompolo. Äkäslompolo stands next to the fell Yllästunturi aka Ylläs. That is why people usually talk about the region of Ylläs.

Yllästunturi Visitor Centre Kellokas (close to Äkäslompolo) is the service centre of the Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park.
NUTS Charter Buses
There are charter bus connections from Äkäslompolo’s event center to Hetta and Pallas. You can buy a bus ticket at the same time you register into a race or afterwards via the personal registration link, which is attached to your registration confirmation email.
If you have chosen the 66 km race, you will get back from the finish line in Pallas to the event center in Äkäslompolo with a free shuttle bus.
NOTE: The event organization doesn’t arrange transportations between Pallas–Hetta, Hetta–Pallas or Hetta–Äkäslompolo.
